Cisco Catalyst Express 3700 Family

Cisco Catalyst Switch 3750

Cisco Catalyst Switch 3750

What do you need  ?

With Cisco StackWise technology, customers can create a single, 32-Gbps switching unit with up to nine Cisco Catalyst 3750 Series switches.

The 3750 Series is available with either the IP Base Image or the IP Services Image. The IP Base Image feature set includes advanced QoS, rate limiting, ACLs, and basic static and Routing Information Protocol (RIP) routing capability. The IP Services Image provides a richer set of enterprise-class features including advanced hardware-based IP unicast and multicast routing. The 3750 Series increases availability for stackable switches by allowing each switch in the stack to serve as a master, creating a 1:N availability scheme for network control, and a forwarding processor. In the unlikely event of a single unit failure, all other units continue to forward traffic and maintain operation. The 3750 Series supports jumbo frames on the 10/100/1000 configurations for advanced data and video applications requiring very large frames, and various models have 24 to 48 Gigabit Ethernet ports and IEEE 802.3af PoE capabilities, as well as 12 SFP-based Gigabit ports. The 3750 series also has 4 x 1 G uplinks or 1 x 10 G uplinks available and 10/100 and 10/100/1000 configurations for 24 or 48 ports, as well as being a fixed-configuration stackable switch. The 3750 has 1 to 1.5 RUs, depending on which model is chosen; has a forwarding rate up to 38.7 Mpps; and is typically used in a small campus core, in a medium wiring closet, or in a branch office.

Cisco Catalyst Express 4500 Family

Cisco Catalyst Switch 4500

What do you need  ?

Cisco Catalyst 4500 Series switches are designed for enterprise LAN access, branch offices, Layer 3 distribution points, small and medium-sized businesses, and metropolitan (metro) Ethernet deployments.

The 4500 Series provides power to devices attached to PoE-enabled Cisco Catalyst 4500 Series switch ports. Devices include IP phones, access points, video cameras, and other Cisco or IEEE 802.3af-compliant appliances. Advanced QoS-Integrated QoS and traffic-management capabilities based on Layers 2-4 classify and prioritize mission-critical and time-sensitive traffic. The 4500 Series comprises a series of modular chassis options ranging from 3 to 10 slots and a set of supervisor engines delivering up to 136 Gbps of Layer 2-4 switching. Advanced security-Enabling security features such as 802.1X, ACLs, Secure Shell Protocol, port security, Dynamic ARP Inspection, IP Source Guard, and private virtual LANs on the 4500 Series enhance control and flexibility in the network. The 4500 Series supports up to 102 Mpps forwarding and has 7 to 14 RUs depending on the model. The 4500 Series is capable of up to 336 ports of 10/100 or 10/100/1000 Ethernet. The 4500 Series is typically used in a small or medium campus core, or in a wiring closet for an enterprise or small or medium campus. The Cisco Catalyst 4500 switches support AC or DC power, and integrated PoE-capable line cards. They are designed for enterprise LAN access, branch offices, L3 distribution points, small- and medium-sized businesses, and metro Ethernet deployments.

Cisco Catalyst Express 4900 Family

What do you need  ?

The Cisco Catalyst 4900 Series offers exceptional performance and reliability for Layer 2 and Layer 3 network edge deployments through two fixed-configuration models.

The Catalyst 4900 Series offers a variety of wire-speed ports and uplinks to provide the greatest possible switching capability in a 1-RU form factor. The 4900 Series delivers wire-speed throughput with low latency for data-intensive applications. The 4900 offers superior per-port QoS features to help ensure that network traffic is classified, prioritized, and scheduled. The 4900 Series offers exceptional performance and reliability for low-density, multilayer aggregation of high-performance servers and workstations. The switch can isolate different Layer 2 community traffic simultaneously, while conserving IP address space. The 4900 Series is capable of up to 102 Mpps forwarding rate and is typically used in a small or medium campus core, or in a large wiring closet for an enterprise or small or medium campus.

Cisco Gigabit Interface Converters (GBICs)

The industry-standard Cisco Gigabit Interface Converter (GBIC) is a hot-swappable input/output device that plugs into a Gigabit Ethernet port or slot, linking the port with the network. Cisco GBICs can be interchanged on a wide variety of Cisco products and can be intermixed in combinations of 1000BASE-T, 1000BASE-SX, 1000BASE-LX/LH, 1000BASE-ZX, or 1000BASE-CWDM interfaces on a port-by-port basis.
